Barn. Early C18 incorporating reused probably C17 materials. Timber-
framed, mainly weatherboarded, but with some red brick nogging, brick
plinth; plain tile roof. 3 framed bays. Framing: square panels, 4
from sole-plate to wall-plate. South-west front: 2 boarded loft
doors to left; central boarded doorway and doorway to right; boarded
loft door in right-hand gable end. Interior: bays divided by square-
panelled cross-frames with short straight corner braces and long straight
tension braces, cambered tie-beam roof trusses with short-raking struts;
roof has single staggered purlins with short wind braces. The barn
incorporates some reused timbers (see mortices and peg-holes) probably
from an earlier barn or possibly from the stable block (q.v.) which is
an early C18 remodelling of an earlier timber framed building.
