Farmhouse, now divided. Early C18 and mid-C19, possibly incorporating
earlier core, with early C20 addition. Red brick with plain tile
roofs. T-plan; C19 range with C20 addition to right and early
C18 gable cross wing to left. Two storeys with cross wing of
two storeys and attic. Toothed brick eaves cornice; C18 cross-wing
with plinth, two plat bands, and toothed brick eaves cornice and
verge; central brick ridge stack, integral brick lateral stack
to left and external rendered brick end stack to right. Right-
hand range: three first-floor 2-light C20 wooden casements, ground-
floor early C20 two-light segmental-headed wooden casement to
right and large central late C20 three-light casement; segmental-headed
6-panelled door to left (lower panels flush, middle recessed and
top glazed) with C20 gabled porch and segmental-headed 6-panelled
door off-centre to right (top two panels glazed) with early C20
bracketed porch beneath late C20 flat-roofed porch; left-hand
cross wing with large late C20 ground-floor three-light window, first-floor
early C18 glazing bar sash with exposed box and segmental-head,
and 2-light wooden attic casement. Lean-to addition at rear.
INTERIOR: C18 cross wing has corner fireplaces, early C18 raised
and fielded panelled doors with L-hinges; early C19 staircase
with open string, cut brackets, two stick balusters per tread, and
wreathed handrail; panelling in cross wing said to have been removed
from Woolstaston Hall (q.v.) c.1784 was not noted at time of survey
