Cottage approximately 20 metres to south west of Brook House

Cottage, now fowl house. Early C17, refronted in mid-C19. Rendered timber frame, left-hand end wall of coursed sandstone rubble and front wall rebuilt in red brick on rubble plinth; plain tile roof. Two framed bays; C19 refronting in a Tudor Gothic style. One storey and attic.

Dentil bull-nosed brick eaves cornice and two gabled semi dormers with dentil bull-nosed brick verges; truncated brick end stack to left. Two-window front; Two-light mid-C19 wooden-framed lozenge-pattern metal casements with bull-nosed brick cills and returned engineering-brick hoodmoulds (casements removed from right-hand windows); central four-panelled door (top two panels glazed) with returned engineering-brick hoodmould. Mid C19 brick lean-to to-left with corrugated iron roof.

Interior: substantial surviving timber frame; central truss with large cambered tie-beam, collar and queen-struts (eaves raised by approximately one foot in mid C19); timber framed cross wall; left-hand ground-floor room with chamfered spine beam, wide joists, and open fireplace with chamfered C17 lintel and mid C19 overmantel.
