Kitchen garden walls, arch-ways and attached cottages. Late C18 with
minor later additions and alterations. Walls. Red brick with sandstone
ashlar coping; regularly coursed and dressed red sandstone block-facing
to south side of south wall to southern enclosure. Main enclosure has
segmental-headed sandstone ashlar arches directly opposing to north and
south. Cottages at entrance to southern enclosure. Red brick; shallow
pyramidal slate roofs with ball finials. Square plan. Left cottage
has wooden mullioned and transomed window with plain stone wedge lintel
to front; similar infilled window to right cottage. Inner returns have
a segmental-headed boarded door with glazing bar sash directly above.
Left cottage has integral lateral stack to left. C19 addition attached
to left cottage is not of special architectural interest.
