Farmhouse, now divided into 2 dwellings. Probably C17 with later additions
and alterations. Rendered timber frame on rendered plinth with painted
brick additions; slate roofs. Short hall range aligned east-west with
gabled cross-wings projecting to south on east and slightly to north on
west. 2 storeys with gable-lit attic to hall range. South elevation.
Gable of west cross-wing has C19 casement on first floor and larder window
to ground floor. C19 barred window on each floor to hall range with
pedimented hood to that on ground floor; horned glazing bar sashes to
projecting gable, tripartite to ground floor. External lateral stack
with top rebuilt in C19 red brick to front of left gable, red brick ridge
stack to right of hall range and internal lateral stack to left of right
gable. East elevation. Flush gable to right has C19 casement to each
floor, each with pedimented hood, leaded to ground floor and attic and
with cast-iron lights to first floor; additional C20 casement, also with
pedimented hood, to first floor. Wide gabled pedimented porch to centre
has C19 ledged door with semi-circular fanlight. Irregularities in render
suggest that attic of gable may be jettied. 2-storey C19 brick range
to north of west cross-wing has contemporary or slightly later lean-to
to east, both extended to right in C20. Interior. Inspection not
possible at time of resurvey (January 1987) but likely to be of interest.
