House in row. Late C17 or early C18. Roughcast on stonework, with
tiled roof and slated eaves courses. Two storeys, attics and
cellars, 2 bays, originally forming the hall and inner room of
house incorporating No 50 (q.v.). Rear wing, original kitchen, now
sitting room, with present kitchen in lean-to extension of early
C20 on side. Central entrance, a 6-fielded and panelled door in
arris beaded frame. Flat canopy on shaped brackets. Sixteen-pane
sashes with flush boxes to both floors and 2 hipped dormers. Roof
half hipped to left. Left bay contains entrance of No 50. At rear
partly projecting stair gabled above eaves.
Interior: Original hall with cross beams with check and hollow
chamfer stops, now subdivided on cross beam. Newel stair lateral
to hall, with splat balusters at attic level. Similar ceiling
beams at first floor level, with flying freehold over No 50. Attic
also interlocking, with single butt purlin roof. Rear wing has
large open lateral fireplace, largely rebuilt.
