Includes No. 4 Sandown Lane (Edinburgh Public House). 3
houses and public house. c.1850. Brick with stone
dressings, hipped slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays to each
house, 1st 2 bays form return to No. 2 Sandown Lane. 1st
floor sill band and top frieze and cornice. Windows have
wedge lintels. Round-headed entrances have consoled door
cases. Blind windows above. Iron area railings have
decorative heads (No.3 has none 1984). No. 1 has casements;
No. 3 has sashes with no glazing bars. No. 5 has sashes
with glazing bars. No. 4 Sandown Lane is of 3 bays, windows
are sashed with glazing bars. Central round-headed entrance
has consoled doorcase and archivolt on Doric pilasters;
boarded fan lighted 6-panel door. Return to Orford Street
has ground floor C20 small-paned bow window and 1st floor
bored iron balconies. Corner iron lamp on bracket.
