2/154 Crow Trees Cottage and barn
4-10-1967 adjoining to south-west
GV II
House, late C17th, altered, with barn probably late C18th. Sandstone
rubble with slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Windows have paired sashes with
no glazing bars, in stone surrounds with central flat-faced mullions. The
left-hand ground-floor window is rebated and chamfered with mullions. It
has one light to the left of a king mullion and 3 to the right. Part of a
drip course remains over the ground floor. The door, between bays, has
plain reveals and a hood of 2 pitched slates. End chimneys. At the rear is
a wing, probably containing a stair, with rebated and chamfered mullioned
windows. Interior not accessible at time of survey, but said to contain an
old stair and a salt cupboard (Provisional List). The barn, at the left
under a continuous roof, has a wide entrance with segmental arch and plain
reveals. At the right and left are doors with plain reveals, the latter
now blocked to form a window. To the right of the main entrance is a
modern wide opening with plain reveals and concrete lintel. To its right
is a window with plain reveals.
