Shop and house, said to be c,191O. Rubble, mainly limestone, with sandstone
dressings and slate roof. 2 storeys. The left-hand side of the west wall
projects forwards as an outshut and has a large shop window with plain
stone surround and a relieving arch over. The door, in the right-hand
return wall of the outshut, has a plain stone surround and an open timber
porch. To the right is a sashed window with glazing bars and plain stone
surround. Adjoining to the right, at 45° across the corner of the building,
is a similar window, with a 3rd window adjoining on the south (gable) wall.
Above the middle window corbels carry the corner of the building. The
south wall has, on the 1st floor, a tripartite sashed window with glazing
bars, a plain stone surround, and square mullions. Above is a blank niche
with plain stone surround and semi-circular head. To the right on the
ground floor is a door with plain stone surround, external stone steps,
and an open timber porch. The gable has a coping with left-hand kneeler,
and a ball finial at the apex. Adjoining to the east is a further part
of the building, which projects forwards and has, on each floor, a
tripartite sashed window with glazing bars, plain stone surround, and
square mullions. To the right on the ground floor is a sashed window
with glazing bars and plain stone surround. Beyond to the right is a
single-storey outshut with a similar window, and a door with plain stone
surround to its left.
