Farmhouse. Said to be early C17 but much altered and enlarged in C19.
Scored stucco with some quoins, plinth, slate roof. U-plan round a rear
courtyard (which is now incorporated): 3-bay front range (3rd bay possibly
an addition) with receding rear wing to 1st bay and parallel addition to
rear of 3rd bay. Two storeys: front range has chimney at left gable and
another chimney at the junction of the 2nd and 3rd bays, the facade between
these being almost symmetrical, with quoins at the left corner, a glazed
door offset slightly right of centre and two 16-pane sashes on each floor,
all these openings with splayed stone heads; further right, the 3rd bay has
one matching window on each floor. Left gable has an inserted door and a
window above, and side wall of rear wing has a large window at ground floor
and 2 unequal 3-light sliding sashes above, all these with glazing bars.
Interior: altered, but some boxed beams in front range, exposed square
beams in rear wing; former open yard, now roofed, has 2 pumps, one with
lettered plaque E , both supplying one massive stone trough with rounded
corners. H D
