Formerly known as Cook's Farm. Farmhouse now house. Mid C18, extended.
White-painted brick, low-pitched stone slate roof. L-shaped 2-bay plan, with
rear outshut to 2nd bay, lean-to addition at left end. Two storeys, symmetrical;
central studded board door with strap hinges, 2 segmental-headed
2-light casements with glazing bars on each floor, the upper with ornamental
louvred shutters; chimney at left gable, modern pipe chimney at right gable.
Stone lean-to at left end has 2-light casement in front wall and 2-light
sliding sash in side wall. Rear mostly covered by additions, but has 2-light
sliding sash at 1st floor of outshut. Interior: direct entry into housepart
in 1st bay, 2nd bay partitioned, with staircase and former dairy in outshut;
original board doors, and original beams and joists in 2nd bay (one beam with
evidence of former use in wattle-and-daub wall). Listed as relatively
unaltered example of small C18 farmhouse.
