House. C17 with early C19 front. Partly timber-framed whitewashed and
rendered brick. Swithland slate roof with brick end and rear wing ridge
stacks. Painted wooden bracketted cornice. 2 1/2 storeys of 3 sash windows:
8/8, 6/6, 8/8. Slightly cambered lintels. Central wooden doorcase with
fluted pilasters and flat bracketted canopy. 6-panelled door and overlight,
the glazing bars of which form squares and octagons. On left end a 6/6 sash
and attic 2-light horizontal sliding sash. 2 storey wing to rear has square
panelled timber framing, 3 bays long, on rubble stone plinth. Probably
original single purlin tie beam truss roof with some windbraces. Double
inglenook and hood (1 fireplace partly filled in). Moulded beams in front
range and curved principals visible. Early C18 panelling, 2 fielded panelled
doors and fireplace.
