GV II
House. Dated 1650 with C18 additions. Timber framed 1st floor faced with red
brick, and coursed rubble stone ground floor. Welsh slate roof with left
centre moulded stone ridge stack. 2 1/2 storeys of 2 centre-opening 3-light
casements over wooden doorcase with door and flat bracketted canopy (2 iron
supports), 3-light wooden mullion and transom window and 5-light canted bay.
Canted 4-light bay, 3-light casement and attic 1-light on left end and l 1/2
storey wing to rear. Inside are beams with stopped chamfers, C18 oak
staircase with turned balusters, wide floor boards, 4-centred arched
fireplace, and moulded beam inscribed 'R.F.A. 1650 W.M.' for Robert and Anne
Freeman. V.C.H., Vol. V.
