TF 04 SE ASWARBY AND SWARBY LONDON ROAD
(East side)

Lodge. Mid C19. Built for the Whichcote family of Aswarby Park. Coursed
squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, slate roofs
having lead dressings and raised stone coped gables with moulded kneelers.
Pairs of wall and ridge stacks with octagonal funnels and moulded cornices.
L-plan. 2 storey irregular 2 bay front, the right hand bay is advanced and
gabled. To left a triangular headed planked door has an engaged shafted
surround and chamfered hood. It is set in a gabled porch with raised stone
coped gable and moulded kneelers. To right is a canted bay window with
hipped ashlar roof and plain casement windows. To first floor right is a
matching 2 light chamfered mullioned window with moulded hood. To left side
is a rectangular bay with hipped ashlar roof matching that to the front,
and to the right side is a gabled 2 light mullioned oriel window.
