5/7 Gateway and railings
to North Lodge.

Gateway and railings. Mid C19. Built for the Whichcote family of Aswarby
Park. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar copings and cast iron. The gate
has plain styles and saltire braces with paterae at the junctions and
curled terminals to the sides. Flanked by single square gate piers with
plinths, roll moulded angles and pyramidal copings bearing the Whichcote
cypher. To either side are low walls bearing 2 bar iron railings matching
the gate with pendent chains and terminating in squared piers with
chamfered sides.
