family. Ashlar with rusticated quoins, moulded plinth, cast
iron. Central pair of cast iron gates having circles to outer
rails, scrolled lower panels and central circle containing
scrolled motif. Scrolled overthrow bearing central coat of arms.
Flanked by single square rusticated gate piers with bolection
moulded cornices surmounted by life sized busts of crowned wild
men. The flanking pedestrian gates have rails with curlicues and
central circles bearing the Bertie Arms. They are set in semi-
circular headed arches with dropped keystones, the flanking walls
have moulded cornices. The square lodges have rusticated quoins,
plain friezes and moulded cornices, above are plain parapets with
balustraded panels and plain angle piers. Each has a single
glazing bar sash in a bolection moulded ashlar surround. The
side fronts have half glazed doors in moulded ashlar surrounds
with pulvinated friezes and cornices. To either side the ramped
and curving screen walls begin with square ashlar piers and
terminate in square rusticated pillars, all with moulded cornices
and ball finials. '
