Warehouse, formerly part of Lewis Clarkes's brewery, now shops
and offices. c1836-50 with later alterations and restorations
including conversion to shop units on ground floor c1980s.
Reddish-brown brick with ashlar and stucco to ground floor,
quoins, sills and cornices; red brick window arches; hipped
plain tile roof and brick right end stack, truncated. L-plan,
the right part projects. 3 storeys, 2:2 first-floor windows.
Rustication to ground floor; first-floor band, pulvinated at
right part; quoins to full height. From left to first floor:
6/6 sash, three tripartite windows with 6/6 between 2/2
sashes; second floor has 3/3 sashes, all in plain reveals and
with sills and flat arches of gauged brick. Frieze and moulded
cornice. Ground floor: glazed shop fronts at left. To right
part are two tripartite windows with 6/6 between 2/2 sashes
and voussoired flat arches. Off-centre entrance to right part:
6-flush-beaded-panel door with overlight and panelled reveals.
Left return has 6/6 and 3/3 sashes.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms a group with Tramps, former Angel Street Congregational
Church, Angel Place (qv).
