Methodist chapel. c1880, by Bromilow and Cheers of Liverpool, altered 1983.
Coursed rock-faced limestone with ashlar Bath dressings laid in
black mortar. C20 blue tile roof and crested ridges. Forebuilding
with apsidal ends leading to chapel with ritual-east crossing and
presbytery. Side vestries. Lower floor accommodation for mixed
use. Gothic revival style. Entrance door raised with ramp. Deeply
recessed windows over, flanked by turrets framing elevation,
balustrade walk connecting turrets over windows. Apses with
transomed lancets to stairs and recessed timber glazed arcade under
wide eaves. Nave has transomed lancets. Flush transept gables
with rose window and lancets under hood moulding.
INTERIOR: Arch-braced roof with decorative hammer beams. West
gallery. Late C19 stained glass. Extensive alteration to the
interior in 1983.
