House. Early-to-mid C19. Sandstone ashlar with slate roof.
Gothic style. 2 storeys with attic. Symmetrical 3 bays.
Windows are sashed without glazing bars in chamfered
surrounds. Outer bays have 2-storey canted bay windows with
embattled parapets which have blind tracery decoration. Middle
window on 1st floor has hood mould with central carved
poppyhead. Moulded cornice has gothic frieze and pierced
parapet and is interrrupted by 2 coped gables containing attic
windows. Central single-storey porch is finely carved, with
octagonal corner turrets which have blind tracery decoration
and crocketed finials. Moulded Tudor-arched doorway has carved
spandrel decoration. Above are 2 bands of gothic ornament, and
a parapet stepped up in the centre above a carved shield of
arms and foliage. Right-hand gable coped. Chimney has
octagonal shaft. Left-hand chimney, raised above eaves of
adjoining building, also has octagonal shafts.
