Former farmhouse. C17 core with considerable alterations of C18, C19 and C20.
Part timber framed core, now rebuilt in early C18 red brick with higher eaves.
Roof of black pantiles with cresting to the ridge. Bargeboards with pierced
trefoils. 2 storeys and attics. The entrance facade faces north. 5 windows,
late C19 inset large-paned sashes under segmental arches. A central doorway
with 4-panel door and a late C19 stone doorcase with console-bracketed
cornice. 2 dormers. Internal stack and gable stack to left. Late C18/early
C19 wing set forward to right; a 2-storey addition to the left has a
crenellated parapet. At the rear there is a late C18 doorway with inset 6-
panel door, eared architrave, convex frieze and pedimented modillion cornice.
Much-altered interior. One ground floor room has a dentil cornice, fireplace
with eared surround and matching overmantel with Adam-style decoration. Late
C18 stair with wreathed handrail and 2 turned balusters to each tread. Part
of the outer face of one C17 gable end is visible at first floor level, mainly
composed of large knapped flint (cf. Blocka Hall, Herringfleet, Item No.1/15).
