Former farmhouse. C17 with considerable alterations of C18 and later.
Colourwashed brick, roof of glazed black pantiles. 2 storeys and attic. 4
windows, flush-frame sashes with glazing bars under cambered arches. The
entrance doorway has an inset 6-panel raised and fielded door, reeded
pilasters and an entablature with reeded frieze. Wooden modillion eaves
cornice. 2 small mid C20 dormers. Gable stacks, that to the right external;
a further external stack set against the rear wall. Single-storey 2-bay wing
to right, formerly the farm office. Original gabled wing to rear, together
with later additions. In the left hand ground floor room there is a C17
fireplace with depressed arch and moulded square surround. 2 mid C19 bedroom
fireplaces, each with half-round reeded columns, a reeded frieze and cast iron
grate. C19 stair. A C17 moulded ground floor bridging beam has been halved
longitudinally and re-used.
