Former stables and coach house to The Lawn, with living accommodation
attached. Early C19. Facing away from the road into a stable yard; white
brick front, random kidney flint to road frontage; slates; half-H form, with
single-storey centre and 2-storey projecting cross-wings. The centre has 2
chimney stacks with small plain white brick shafts and 2 high carriage
doorways with segmental-arched heads and double doors, and a semi-circular
arched doorway at each end has a door with 6 flush panels and fanlight with
radiating glazing-bars. Both wings have sash windows in deep reveals with
flat gauged arches: 6 panes to the upper floor, 12 panes on the ground floor.
The left wing, which contains the living accommodation, has had a side door
blocked and replaced by a window; the right wing is unaltered, and contains 3
stalls and a loose box.
