GV II


Farmhouse. Mid-C18, with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Brick on
sandstone rubble plinth, plain tiled roof with brick stacks and parapets
at gable ends. L-plan. Main part of two storeys, attic and cellar with
dentilled eaves cornice. Windows are all C20 and mainly replicas of original
ones. Main west elevation: three bays; one ground floor and three first floor
cross-casements with cambered heads; one ground floor 4-light casement and
central ground floor blind opening with cambered head. Attic lights in gable
ends. Main entrance in rear left wing in angle with main part; gabled brick
porch with ledged and battened door; large round-headed stair light to left
of porch. Interior: oak open-well staircase with C19 gate to first landing
and turned balusters at first floor level. C19 single-storey single-bay
kitchen wing adjoins to rear east wing gable end.
