Road bridge over the River Lugg. Early to mid-C19, possibly by Sir Jeffrey
Wyattville for the Arkwright family of Hampton Court (qv). Sandstone rubble
with ashlar dressings. Single elliptical archway with keyblock. Three
circular flood outlets of diminishing sizes in each spandrel, (two pairs of
inner ones are blind) and flanking round-headed flood archways. Plain parapet
with corbel table at base and interrupted by square piers with shallow pyramidal
capping above each end of the archway (partly missing on south side). Parapet
is splayed at ends and terminates in circular piers with offsets arid moulded
cappings. Bridge is about eight yards wide and 45 yards in length.
