House. Early C17 or earlier, C18 brick front, C20 S gable where new road
cut through. Heavy timber frame exposed in carriageway at N end.
Extension cased in stuccoed brickwork. Steep old red tile roofs. A
2-storeys house, 3 windows long, facing W, with twin 2-storeys hipped
rear wings, SE rear outshut with hipped dormer on roof, internal S gable
chimney, and large chimney backing onto the carriageway through the N
end of the building. W front has 3 upper windows, door under central
window with a lower window on each side. Flush-box sash windows with 6/6
panes. Triple-sash to right of door. Large boarded double doors to
carriageway. 6-panel door (bottom 2 flush-beaded: others raised and
fielded). Framing exposed in carriageway has chamfered axial beam with
hollow stop, main framing of N gable end, Cross-frame to S of chimney
with large panels and framing of underbuilt front-wall jetty.
