NEWNHAM
SEVERN STREET
Wall to west of and adjoining No 4
(formerly listed as Wall to east of No 1)
II
Boundary wall. Early C19. Cast slag block on rubble base, with four courses
of brick as capping; c.2 m high and c.10 m long, running up hill from No 4
(qv) towards No 8 Severn Street (not included). This wall is a good surviving
example of the use of cast dross block from the former glass industry
in Newnham, and also forms an important closure to this section of Severn
Street.
