House. Probably C16. Timber framed with brick infilling and some C20
additions in coursed rubble, pantiled roofs. 2 storeys, 4 bays, with
projecting C20 porch to second bay. Framing made up of heavy, jowled, wall
posts with first-floor rail and a wallplate, with simple scarf joints,
supported by arch-braces. Inside are cambered tie beams, also braced to the
wall-posts. The framing is virtually intact: infilling in brick has
resulted in the removal of some of the ground-floor studs, which seem-
originally to have numbered 2 to each bay. Ground floor: C20 three-light
sliding sashes. Mid C20 projecting porch is of coursed rubble below,
timber-frame above, with a boarded door. First floor: C20 three-light
sliding sashes. Interior: principal and secondary joists all have narrow
chamfers with run-out stops.
