Station and station masters house, now private house. 1840 for Hull and
Selby railway. Brick in Flemish bond, stone dressings, Welsh slate roof.
Part single storey and part 2 storeys, 9 bays. To left: 4 single-storey
bays with two 4-panel doors and two 2-light Yorkshire sash windows with
diamond glazing bars, the doors in eared surrounds, the windows in eared and
shouldered surrounds. To right: five 2-storey bays with central gabled bay
breaking forward. To left: 4-panel door and C20 fixed window in single
eared surround with similar C20 fixed window in eared and shouldered
surround to left. Central 3-light mullioned and transomed fixed window in
eared surround. To right: 2-light Yorkshire sash in eared and shouldered
surround, and C20 fixed window in eared surround. Veranda to outer bays, on
thin iron column to left-hand side. First floor: 6-pane sash in eared
surround beneath gablet to bay 2 of 2-storey part. 6-pane sash in eared and
shouldered surround to central bay. Gable coping and brick kneelers to all
gables. Ridge stack .
