Signal Box, type 1A 1873, Built for the North Eastern Railway, Southern Divi-
sion. Red brick slate roof with overhanging eaves and finials. Single lateral
chimney stack. 2 storey, brick plinth and ashlar first floor band, upper floor
has projecting corner pilasters. West front has a single round headed window
with glazing bars, above a large sliding sash. North front has 2 round headed
windows with glazing bars. Above 3 sliding sashes that to the right taller, all
with glazing bar sashes. East front has plank door, and above a half glazed
door, reached up an external flight of wooden steps, and a sliding sash with
glazing bars. Included for group value.
