3/17 L-plan range of barns
adjoining to north-
east of Knill Farmhouse

GV II

L-plan range of barns adjoining to north-east of Knill Farmhouse (qv),
and forming west and north enclosure of foldyard. C18 barn aligned
east/west with altered late C18 or early C19 barn to north/south. Sand-
stone rubble earlier barn with stone slate roof; part sandstone rubble
with part timber-framed upper section with weatherboard cladding to later
barn with corrugated metal roof. Seven-bay earlier barn with two thresh-
ing floor entrances, three rows of loop vents, three rows with six similar
vents to each row to west gable end. Inclined strut trusses and two rows
of purlins to roof, altered and extended later barn of eight bays with
entrance to foldyard two bays to right (south) of stone barn, floored to
south of entrance, part inclined strut and part king-post roof.
