Farmhouse and former barn, now part of house. 1764 on datestone.
Limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and quoins; roughcast
rendered front; stone slate roof; ashlar chimney stacks with
moulded caps. Two-storey with attic; room either side of central
staircase hall; barn runs parallel with house at back; wing at
south end projects beyond barn; C19 and C20 additions at south end.
Asymmetrical three-window east front with two 16-pane sashes
either side of front doorway; three 8-pane sashes in upper floor;
all windows appear C19 replacements; plain stone architraves; one
off-centre hipped roof attic dormer. Stepped chimney stack at
north end facing road with paired shafts. Irregular fenestration
to barn and back wing: all timber casements with timber lintels.
Date stone on back wing has initials WW, said to refer to William
Welch, a C18 landowner in this part of the parish. (A.R.J. Jurica,
'Brimpsfield' in V.C.H. Glos. vii, 1981, pp 140-149).
