GV II

Two cottages on end of terrace. No 1 probably mid/late C18, No 2
probably late C17/early C18. Rubble stone, coursed to No 1,
limewashed, concrete tile roof with new stone stack to No 2,
stepping down in height to No 1. Single front range with rear
extension to No 2, both 2-storeys and attic. No 1 has one window
on each floor, paired wooden casements under timber lintel, with
attic window on gable end, door of 4 flush panels to right, also
under timber lintel. No 2 has 2 windows, 2-light chamfered stone
mullions in flush stone frames with wooden casement lights. Two
similar below and central chamfered stone doorcase with large
lintel and door of 4 flush panels. Small gabled dormer. These two
cottages, along with Nos 10 and 11 (q.v.) at other end of the
terrace, are the least altered of a row probably mostly dating from
late C17 or early C18 which are reputed to have been tied cottages
for the former Lechlade Manor (demolished).
