Monument. Sarah Pace, died 1805. Limestone. Narrow slab with
short square piers projecting in front and behind, with moulded
coping, rising in curve to centre to short flat top originally with
some kind of finial now missing. Piers have recessed small
circular panels, centre slab has long elliptical recessed panel
with inscription: "In the midst of blooming Health/after a short
illness/died SARAH wife of RICH. PACE of this Place
Builder/December the 9 1805 Aged 43/Good God on what a slender
thread/hang Mortal things'. Wife of architect/builder Richard Pace
who worked in the Lechlade area, producing pattern books of house
designs available to his clients, and the "Lechlade" panelled door.
