Farmhouse and attached outbuildings and barn at rear. Late C17-
early C18. Coursed roughly squared and dressed limestone.
Concrete tile and ashlar stacks to farmhouse. Stone slate roofing
to outbuilding at rear. Rectangular plan to farmhouse with stairs
projection at the rear. Late C20 flat-roofed extension rear left,
not of special interest. Outbuildings at right angles to the rear
of latter together with the barn and farmhouse form a 3-sided yard
at the rear. C20 lean-to extension at the rear of the barn, not
of special interest. Farmhouse; 2 storeys attic and cellar,
twin-gabled facade to the main body (left), five-windowed facade:
Single-light cellar window with a dressed stone surround off centre
right, 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement with
stopped hood ground floor left. Two 12-pane sashes with horns
within dressed stone surrounds and a 2-light wooden casement within
a flat-chamfered dressed stone surround to ground floor also.
Single-light, 2 and 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned
casements to the first floor, single C20 two-light dormer to the
mid C18 extension. Stone-mullioned windows at rear. C19 plank
door set back at centre of facade. Four roll-moulded steps up to
door. Gable-end and axial stacks all with moulded cappings and
skirtings. Outbuildings at rear; single-storey and loft. One
2-light stone-mullioned casement and two 2-light wooden casements.
C19 stable door to the right of a flight of stone steps which
formerly led to a doorway to the loft (now blocked with 2-light
metal casement inserted in the blocking). C20 flat-roofed eaves
dormer far right. Single axial stack. Barn, two large plank
doors with timber lintels in the side facing the the yard. Single
fixed 2-light casement upper left. Flat coping at the gable ends.
Roll-cross saddle at the right gable end.
Interior; 5 bays with the original collar and tie beam trusses and
double butt purlins (with ladder stair access from within) at the
left end. Three open bays to the right. Stone dividing wall to
the level of the first floor, early timber partition above the
wall, close studding with wattle and daub infill above that.
