3/5 Badgers Cottage

Cottage, former pair. Early C17, and early C19. Brick walls and thatched roof.
A massive timber frame, with additions at each end, and cladding on the front.
South (front) elevation of 1 storey, and attic, 5 above 4 windows. The roof
is hipped at the west end and brought to a low eaves above an outshot, eyebrow
dormers; large shafted stack. The walls of Flemish bond are divided into
panels, with pilasters merging with a lst floor band and a high plinth,
cambered ground floor openings (some altered). Casements. 2 plain doorways,
one with a corrugated canopy on posts. The north elevation has exposed
framing, with brick infill and other walling of various dates. Inside, the
frame is exposed, and a beam has the date 1623.
