House. C17, with C18 alterations and extensions, and C20 restoration and
additions. Mainly brick walls, and a tile roof. The south-east front (C18) is
2 storeys and attic, 5 above 3 windows. Stepped ridge to the roof, which is
½-hipped at the north end, 1 hipped roofed dormer. Walls of Flemish bond, lst
floor band, cambered ground floor openings, cemented plinth. C20 casements of
different sizes. ½ glazed door in a plain frame, with a large canopy on carved
brackets. The rear elevation has a taller projecting wing at the south side,
with ½ hipped roof, walls with exposed frame in the lower part (fitted with
herring-bone brickwork) tile hung to the gable, with casements and a C20
classical doorway. The south-west elevation includes the gable to the Georgian
front, having a tile-hung upper part and flint walls with brick dressings, the
earlier rearwing having brick walls in English bond; there are 2 attached and
stepped stacks.
