House, late C18, extended in C19. Brick, Flemish bond with scored joints,
(stock bricks at front, red/purple elsewhere), roofed with handmade red clay
tiles (slates on C19 extension). Double pile plan with central entrance/stair
hall, 2 chimney stacks in each side wall, in gable ends. Aspect NE. Service
extension to SE, late C19. 2 storeys with attics. Central glazed door, reeded
wooden doorcase with open pediment and stucco pilasters, 4 stone steps; 4
double-hung sash windows of 16 lights under segmental arches of gauged brick,
late C18. First floor, 5 similar windows. String courses above ground floor
windows and above first floor windows. Parapet. 3 flat-roofed dormers with
casement windows of 12 lights. The whole forms a symmetrical composition. Lead
rainwater head with inscription AW 1795. Double gables at each side, with
mansard roofs. Internal folding shutters in front windows on both floors,
complete. Staircase with pine rail and slender turned balusters, post at bottom
mutilated.
