1 and 2 Parsonage Cottages (formerly listed as Parsonage Farmhouse)

Pair of cottages. Early C17 timber framed and plastered, two storey house with
C19 red brick front. Of 'L' shaped plan form with additional gabled C17
staircase tower on rear. Roof of clay peg tiles, gabled on N and E and hipped
with gablet on corner. Front is of Flemish Bond red brickwork with pilaster
strips at each side. 2 pairs of double hung sashes with g.b.'s 8/8 small panes
either side of central door with all openings having segmental brick arches.
Large stack in centre of front range and all rear range windows are C19
casements. Old pargetting on flank and rear wall beneath link with C19 red
brick outbuilding. Interior has partially exposed timber frame with moulded
imposts and contemporary staircase with fret balusters. (RCHM 4).
