House. Early C16 timber framed, 2 storey farmhouse with C19 red brick front.
Clay peg tile roof, gabled at W, half hipped at E and carried down over later
continuous, outshot at rear. A house with the jetty now covered by the later
outshots on N. Later stack, within original smoke bay projects above ridge
line, off centre. Front elevation is of C19 and earlier, red brick with 3 and
4 light casements under arched segmental brick heads. Projecting porch with
lean-to peg tile roof. Angled parapeted flat roofed bay window. At.rear on
NW corner a 2 storey gabled C19 service wing with clay pantile roof and original
casements. Rear outshots are part single and part two storey faced in red
brickwork with grey headers and one flat roof, 2 light casement dormer. Timber
frame extensively visible on ground floor showing jetty braces arched wall
braces and chamfered floor joists with soffit tenon and diminished haunches. The
kitchen has curious stone post base with cyma mouldings, probably from
elsewhere. c.1800 corner cupboard with glazed doors in living room. Good C19
red brick curved garden wall around front of property. Remains of moat. (RCHM
