House. Early C19. Stuccoed brick with red brick stacks; low pitched hipped
slated roofs. Two storeys with cellars; five 'bay' facade to south with
recessed service-wing to west of two 'bays'. Five tall rectangular planned
stacks each with three rectangular shafts and common entablatures. Deep
boarded eaves; band between floors on south facing elevation with centre
'bay' slightly advanced; garden entrance approached by stone steps with
French casement and patterned fanlight in continuous moulded round headed
arch. Seven recessed first floor and ground floor hung sash windows with
slender glazing bars. Main entrance in north facing elevation; large glazed
panelled-door, open portico with slender Doric columns. Interior with
original details. The house is built on the site of the manor house and is
enclosed on north, east and west sides by a moat.
