Cottage. C16 or earlier with late C17 alterations and C20 addition to
south-west. Timber-framed and plastered brick north-east gable, half hipped
thatched roof with rectangular planned red brick ridge stack to right of
centre. One storey and attic, original three unit plan possibly with an open
hall, (hearth stone and reredos of field pebbles found when hearth was
unblocked), and two floored end bays. C20 thatched porch with boarded door;
four ground floor windows include one three-light horizontal sliding sash
window. One casement dormer eyebrow window with plain tiles below.
Interior: Timber-frame plastered, reused joists in north-east floor frame,
stop-chamfered cross beam to hall. Hearth with two baking ovens and two
niches originally with shaped heads. Side purlin roof with pair of blackened
rafters beside chimney.
