Early C18 but remodelled by the Crewe Estate 1874 (on porch). Red brick in Flemish
Bond, with slate and tiled roofs. 3 storeys, 4 bays "L" shaped on plan with 2-storey,
3-bay wing north. Heavy sectioned framed and gabled timber porch, with the Crewe
Estate emblem and date in the apex. The door has four panels out of six glazed and
an external architrave. Windows mainly three-light flush casements with glazing bars,
stone sills and flat cambered arches. The centre bays under a gable with carved barge
board and an estate emblem in the apex. Moulded brick modillion eaves cornice
supporting moulded cast iron gutter. The modillion treatment continues up the verges
of both flanking gables. The ridge is of crested tiles. The north wing has a six
panel door in a heavy dowelled frame and a roof of old tiles.
Interior: Moulded and chamfered beams, six panel doors.
