Yew Tree Cottage.

House. C17 and C19 and C20 additions. Timber frame, brick infill and
walling (whitewashed). Slate roof. Baffle-entry plan with central
ridge chimney, 2 cells and 2 storeys. Entrance front has stone
plinth, brick walling. Central C19 porch. Ground floor has chamfered
mullion windows of 3 lights. C19 dormer windows to upper floors. C20
additions to left and right and outshut to rear. Right hand gable end
shows small framing of 2 rows of 4 panels. 3-light casement window to
ground floor. Small framing to gable. Ridge exposed.
Interior: Chamfered beams in parlour. New bressumer to hearth.
Staircase behind chimney breast now leads up from outshut with
landing, but probably originally a quarter turn with winders starting
at right of ingle-nook. Small-framed staircase well. One raised
cruck to near of chimney breast exposed in stairwell, the rest all
trusses supported by posts.
