SX 36 NE CALLINGTON WELL STREET,

8/50 Pipe Well

Well house. Rebuilt in 1816 (datestone). Granite ashlar with hipped granite roof.
Built into side of rubblestone wall over pipe well. Rectangular in plan. Small
opening with C20 plank door on left hand side. Datestone in centre on front. Water
discharges through pipe on right-hand side and is approached by 3 granite steps
leading down to pipe. Steps enclosed by C20 wrought iron railings.
Originally known as 'Our Ladys Well'.
