House, now shop with rooms above. Circa C17. Partly remodelled, circa mid C19.
Repaired after fire in 1975. Timber frame, slate hung with scantle slate roof with
half-hipped gable to front and gabled ends to right and left. Large stone stack with
brick shaft to rear. Originally single depth plan extended to rear. 3 storeys,
symmetrical 3 window front. Ground floor with late C19 canted glazed shop front with
partly glazed door to left of centre and further door to right. Moulded cornice.
First floor with three 12-pane sashes without horns. Moulded bressumer above. In
centre of second floor double 2-light casement with glazing bars. Ground floor with
chamfered ceiling beams. Circa C19 staircase with simple timber screen on first
floor and round arched opening with moulded pilasters and key. Some C18 2-panelled
doors. Some original roof timbers remaining, paired with later supports after fire
damage. Principals die into side of wall plate. Chamfered post introduced to
support centre collar.
