3 houses, formerly a single farmhouse. Probably a C17 core, rebuilt in early C19.
Plastered cob and rubble; stone rubble and brick stacks with C19 brick tops, slate
roof.
Main block facing east has double depth plan with front and back room either side
of former central entrance hall and stairs. End stacks. Small ancillary block set
back on right end. Lower 3-room plan rear block at right angles behind left
(southern) rooms and has projecting inner lateral stack to middle room and
projecting end stack. No. 1 occupies most of front block, No. 2 some of rear of
main block and front room of rear block, and No. 3 occupies rear 2 rooms of rear
block. 2 storeys with attics to main block. Symmetrical 5-window front of 16-pane
sashes with plain openings and granite sills. Central part-glazed 6-panel door
with overlight without glazing bars and timber doorcase with Tuscan pilasters and
moulded entablature. Projecting plain timber eaves cornice and low pitch roof is
gable-ended. Right ancillary block has 16-pane sash in gable end. Left end has 2
windows, 12-pane sashes to front and 16-pane sashes to rear, and small 2-light
casement with glazing bars to attic. Rear block on this side has a regular 3-
window front made up of a variety of 20, 16 and 12-pane sashes and towards rear a
plank door with overlight (to No. 3). Rear of main block and inside of rear block
have been much rearranged and contain mostly C20 doors and casements.
Interiors also have been much altered but still contain some C19 joinery. Rear
block plan appears to suggest C17 core but both stacks are wholly built of C19
brick. Roofs not inspected.
