Cottage. Circa late C17 or early C18, extended in later C20. Rendered rubble
walls incorporating some cob. Thatch roof gabled to right end and hipped to left.
Rendered axial stack, probably brick on a rubble base, and rubble lateral stack at
rear of left-hand end.
Plan: originally 2-room plan, larger room to right which has fireplace in end
wall and doorway on front wall. Left-hand room has fireplace and doorway on rear
wall. In later C20 a 1-room addition was built at the right-hand end and a
conservatory on the rear wall.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window front with 2 storey extension at
right-hand end which has small-paned 2 and 3-light casements. Otherwise C19 2-
light casements on the 1st floor and a 3-light one on the ground floor left of
centre with 2 C20 casements to the left and centre. Probably C18 plank door to
left of centre below single slate hood.
Interior- retains its 2 open fireplaces with roughly chamfered wooden lintel: the roughly chamfered wooden lintel: the
one in the right-hand room had the date 1719 scratched on it. Roof timbers are
simple pegged A-frames and may be original or late C18.
