Farmhouse Circa mid C18 extended in C19 and altered in C20. Slatestone rubble
walls. Hipped asbestos slate roof. Rendered brick axial stack. Projecting
rubble lateral stack at side of rear wing.
Plan L-shaped plan, front range is the original one and was formerly of 4-room
plan with baffle entrance in front of central axial stack which heats room to
either side. Beyond these 2 rooms was a narrow outer service room at each end
from which the partitions have now been removed. Behind the right-hand end is a
C19 wing added probably as a kitchen.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 2-window front, 3 below. On 1st floor are C18
horizontal sliding sashes with 20-pane C19 sashes below. Very small light at
right-hand end. The 2 main ground floor windows have dressed stone voussoirs over them. C19 plank door at centre under slate hood. Wing extending behind right-hand end.
Interior: contains few original features. The open fireplaces may not survive in exactly their original form; the left-hand one has a low slate slab lintel, the other has dressed stone jambs and a cambered wooden lintel.
