Stables, now student dormitories. C18; restored early C19 and
C20. Red brick in Flemish bond, hipped tile roof. Long
rectangular plan with Cumberland Lodge (qv) adjoining on left
end.
EXTERIOR: single storey and attic. Cornice band and parapet.
Bellcote, with vane, clock in base and scrolled angle
brackets, set centrally on roof ridge. 12 gabled dormers with
casement windows with glazing bars. Ground floor windows have
mullions and transoms with glazing bars, under stepped, gauged
brick arches.
North-east front: symmetrical. 12 bays. Double doors in third
bays from centre at either side. Projecting, central feature
under stone cornice with low stone pediment, has round-arched
carriage entrance with stone architrave and springing band.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
