Garden walls. Probably late C18 with mid C19 alterations and additions. West
wall of roughly-dressed sandstone with flat coping; ha-ha wall of rubble with
flat coping and cast-iron railings. West wall runs south for c.30 metres and
has central section raised in mid C19 when farmbuildings built against rear
face; left section has quadrant ramp which reduces wall height from c.3.O to
1.5 metres and adjoins ha-ha wall at south-west corner. Ha-ha wall, c.O.5
metres high, runs east for c.20 metres and has railings with alternating
standards and half bars. Standards have turned-baluster profile and ornamental,
pointed finials. Cast-iron gate with identical detail flanked by 2 octagonal
stone piers with pointed tops. Included for group value.
Farmbuildings attached to rear of west wall not of special interest.
